Helping the Salvation Army

On December 1, 2007 St. Mary’s (Barton) students and families rang bells at Pick’n’Save North in West Bend for the Salvation Army.  The St. Mary’s student council adopted the kettle for the day and encouraged St. Mary’s students and families to help out.  Despite the inclement weather, many people shared their time and talent (ringing bells, caroling and playing instruments).

On Tuesday, January 29th, 2008, St. Mary’s School (West Bend) held a Pajama Day in conjunction with Catholic Schools Week.  Students collected pajamas for Kids’ Closet in Milwaukee and were able to wear pajamas for the day.  120 pajamas and pajama sets were collected.  Pictured are: left to right Josh Breuer, Imojyn Miller, Christine Unger, Olivia Koenig, Mayela  Skowronek, Jessica Fieweger, and Kenny Costa.

On February 8, 2008, St. Mary’s West Bend students participated in a school wide Spelling Bee.  Two representatives from fourth through eighth grades were chosen to particpate.  The top two spellers were Kathryn Flynn, fourth grade and Taylor Berndt, sixth grade.  They went on to compete in a Spelling Bee with top spellers from other area parochial schools on February 12, 2008.

Winners of the St. Mary's GEO Bee are Austin Yahr and Rebecca Fahney.
