There are many opportunities at St. Mary's Parish for
involvement in church ministry. Listed below is an overview of each
ministry.

Administration
Administrative Services/Finance Committee:
Advisory Group for parish budget and administration. Meets the first
Monday of the month.
Endowment Committee: Advisory group to
oversee the parish and school endowments in accordance with Archdiocesan
policy. Meets as needed.
Church Clean-up and Project Days: Clean the
church and sacristy for one to two hours on the last Saturday of the month.
Personnel Committee: Advisory group on areas
of parish Human Resource management. Meets on an as needed basis.
Phone/Office Help: Answer phones and help in
parish office occasionally.
Building and Grounds Committee: Identifies
needs, makes recommendations, and works on projects related to the
maintenance and upkeep of parish property. Meets the first Monday of
the month.
Parish Mailings: Help prepare parish mailing
on a quarterly basis.
Cemetery Committee: advisory group on
policies, procedures, and upkeep of the parish cemeteries. Meets two
times a year.
Vocations Committee: Promotes vocation
awareness on the parish level through participation in the Quad Parish
Vocations Team. Meets quarterly.
Family Festival Committee: Supports the
parish by organizing the Family Festival and the Spaghetti Dinner.

Adult
Christian Formation
Men's Ministry: Plans 2-3 events a year to
help men grow in their relationship to God and each other. Meetings as
needed.
Women's Ministry:
Plans 2-3 events a year to help men grow in their
relationship to God and each other. Meetings as needed.
Marriage Preparation (FOCCUS): Married couples
meet with engaged couples in preparation for marriage using the FOCCUS
Inventory. Archdiocesan training provided. 2 meeting per couple, 2-3
couples per year.
Quad Parish Adult Formation Committee:
Brainstorm, plan, and implement adult enrichment programs for the Quad
Parished.

Prayer and
Worship
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA):
The process for those who desire full membership in the Catholic Church.
There is a need for team members, sponsors, and catechists who will walk
with candidates on this faith journey.
Acolytes (Adult Servers): Assist presider at
funerals, holy days, and other special liturgies as needed. Training
provided.
Art and Environment:
Meet as needed to develop and place church decorations for the liturgical
seasons.
Eucharistic Ministers: Distribute the Body
and Blood of Christ at liturgies as needed. Training provided.
Lectors: Proclaim the scriptures at
liturgies as scheduled. Training provided.
Greeter: Be a welcoming individual or family
at the entrances as people gather for worship.
Prayer and Worship Committee: Meets as
needed to coordinate the liturgical ministries for each liturgical season.
Ushers: A welcoming ministry for individuals
and families at the Mass of your choice. Training provided.
4:30 p.m. Saturday Choir: Lead the community
in vocal and instrumental liturgical music. Practice Tuesday evenings
and before Mass.
8:00 a.m. Sunday Musicians: Lead the
community in vocal and instrumental liturgical music. Practice weekly
and before Mass.
10:00 a.m. Sunday
Choir: Lead the community in vocal and instrumental liturgical
music. Practice Thursday evenings and before Mass.
Youth/Young Adult Choir: Lead the community
in vocal and instrumental liturgical music on the third weekend of the month
at various Mass times. Practice as scheduled and before Mass.

Pastoral Care
Bereavement Ministry: Send a card to
parishioners when have lost a loved one and offering to be available to them
if they would welcome a one-on-one meeting.
Transportation Ministry: Provide
transportation for those wishing a ride to church. Also if you are
aware of someone who is in need oa a ride to Mass please call 338-5601.
Caspar Rehrl Ministry:
Ministry to the Homebound and nursing home residents of our community.
Eucharist minister to the Homebound and nursing homes
after the 8:0 a.m. Mass.
Visitor to the Homebound person, person in a nursing
home; the time commitment would be variable
Meals for Families: Help in providing meals
for parish members when an emergency arises.

Human Concerns
Amigos En Cristo (Friends in Christ): Our
twinning relationship with San Gaspar Parish in Taulabe, Honduras. The
twinning committee meets monthly.
Harvest House: Monthly meal program held at
St. James Episcopal Church, located at 148 S. 8th Ave. Our parish is
responsible to supply 10-12 volunteers on the 1st Saturday of Feb., April,
June, August, Oct., and Dec. to help prepare and serve the meal.
Northside Meal Program: Prepare and serve
the meal twice a year, usually in the months of August and September. The
meal program is held at the site of the former St. Gaul's Parish in
Milwaukee.
Food Pantry Food Collection: Weekly
contributions made to the Full Shelf Food Pantry & St. Vincent DePaul Food
Pantry. food donations brought weekly to the Sunday Mass.
Holiday Outreach: Through Prison Fellowship
(Angel Tree), Samaritan Health Center residents gift tags; Christmas Baskets
- people needed to pack and deliver the baskets.
Human Concerns Committee: Evaluates,
coordinates, sets goals and implements activities for parish human concerns.
Meets monthly.
Voices for Justice: Works on behalf of the
poor and voiceless through education and advocacy. Actions involve
calls, e-mails, and letters to legislators.

Christian
Formation For Children and Teens
Religious Education Program (R.E.P.) Teachers for
Grades 1-8: Share your faith with our children. Lesson
plans, teacher manuals and support provided. Twenty-twenty-five, one
hour sessions scheduled each year on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings at 7:00
p.m., September - April.
R.E.P. Substitute Teachers: Fill in for
teachers unable to be in class. Materials provided.
R.E.P. Hall Monitors: Adults help students
cross the street before and after evening classes and monitor hallways
during religion class.
Liturgy of the Word for Children:
Individuals lead our young people (K5 - 4th grade children) through the
gospel reading during 4:30 p.m. Saturday evening Mass and Sunday 10:00 a.m.
Mass, October - April.
Christian Formation Committee: Advisory
group for the planning, implementations, and evaluation of Religious
Education Programs for children and teens. Meets as needed.

St. Mary's School
Help Teachers: Do runoffs for teachers one
day of the week.
Development Committee: Work on long-range
goals and special projects (past accomplishments - Science and Computer
labs.)
Publicity: Put articles in local newspapers.
Contact cable and radio stations with school events.
Student Pictures: Help organize school team,
troops and clubs for pictures.
Hearing and Vision Screening: Help the
Health Department screen students.
Lunch Server: Help serve lunch for senior
citizens at Heritage Day.
Staff Appreciation Dinner: Donate a food
item, help set-up, serve and or clean-up for the staff dinner on the night
of parent/teacher conferences in November.
Concert Socials: Help set-up, serve and
clean-up.
Serve Lunch: Help serve Hot Lunch to
students.
Brat Stands: Help at the Home/School Brat
stands during the Summer.
Santa's Workshop: To help set-up, wrap
gifts, and to clean-up, held one Friday at the beginning of December.
Market Day: One Saturday morning a month -
your child's class will be assigned a specific month to help.
Playground Supervisor: To be one of three
supervisors a day watching the children during their lunch hour outside from
11:50-12:30. This is a paid position.
Science/Folk Fair: To be held in May.
To help judge projects, set-up and or clean-up.
Computer room Aide: Assist in the computer
lab for your child's class.
Forensics Judges: Judge participants at
public-speaking events in which the St. Mary's team competes. Most are
on Saturdays, a few on a weekday evening and Sundays.
Make Phone Calls: Make phone calls to
organize volunteers for school related activities.

Bulletin Board: Update board outside gym.
Bulletin Announcements: Weekly paragraph on
